This has been our favorite resturant in Carmel for many years. We done here for most all special occasions. Fresh food, great service and atmosphere!!!
Was able to make reservation- sat indoors near the fireplace. Ordered local bread with olive oil. Disappointed bread was not warm but tasted good overall. Was able to order the FETTUCCINE ALLA BOLOGNESE- tasted delicious! Ordered specialty dessert with kahlua liqueur. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Note there is a 3% credit card fee when paying.
We had the most enjoyable evening here and were able to experience a taste of Italy's hospitality here in Carmel. Grazie mille a Ileto e il cuoco! The rigatoni was suggested as well as the filet. My wife and I shared every plate and it was perfect. The service was spot on and relaxed and the restaurant had a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.
So obsessed with the food here. First, they allowed our dog and brought him water. Secondly, you can't beat the scallops! chefs kiss.
A total Carmel GEM. Small, charming, with soft lighting and an indoor fireplace. There is an actual prosciutto carving station in the front room just like they have in Italy! The waiter, Icalo is from Italy. He was knowledgeable and so incredibly warm! He took excellent care of us on our impromptu visit. And guys, the food! It was THE BEST Italian I've had in years and I am a stickler lol. I had the crab ravioli with bay scallops in champagne cream sauce and it blew my mind- delicate, rich, full-bodied, well-balanced. So much so that the dish is burned into my memory as a new standard for Italian. My boyfriend's gnocci was also 10/10. Lastly, the Tiramisu WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF - it tastes like someone's nonna made it: delicious and a tad boozy! Do not forget to try it- they make it in house with fresh mascarpone.
Four years later we still love Enzo. It's off the main road so it's not as busy as some other restaurant but it's definitely a hidden gem! Easily got a reservation at 2pm on a Saturday and it was empty when we arrived. Weather permitting their outdoor seating is very cozy. We love the crab ravioli in the champagne cream sauce with sun dried tomatoes and scallops. It's a must get anytime we're visiting the area.
